Carolyn Thoms, CPA, CA, CFA
President and Portfolio Manager

Carolyn has worked in the finance arena for over 30 years and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) professional designations.  She founded Paragon Private Wealth in 2011 and has managed investment portfolios for private clients since 2007.  Previously, Carolyn held senior corporate financial positions in the financial guaranty, business valuations and investment industries and in her career has worked in Calgary, Bermuda and Geneva, Switzerland.

Carolyn is actively engaged in her community and has served as Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Victoria (three years), Chair (three years) and Governor (nine years) of the University of Victoria Foundation, and executive member of the Victoria Conservatory of Music (six years). Carolyn is a member of the CFA Institute, Victoria CFA Society, and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and BC.

Rod Thoms, CPA, CA, CFA
Vice President

With over 30 years of consulting and financial management experience, Rod’s strengths are in financial analysis, corporate valuation and risk assessment.  Rod held several senior corporate and consulting positions, most extensively in capital markets, financial risk management and global treasury.  Rod also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) professional designations. He is a member of the CFA Institute, Victoria CFA Society, and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and BC.  Rod is an active community supporter, generously volunteering with community boards and local initiatives.

Sharon Levene
Client Service and Administration

Sharon has worked in financial services for over 30 years and specifically in wealth management for over 25 years. Though mainly working in Ottawa and Victoria, Sharon has enjoyed many years living and traveling internationally, in the United Kingdom, Australia and South East Asia. She is a resourceful problem solver and appreciates building long-term client relationships. Sharon is looking forward to this next phase of her career, working part time within the small professional practice at Paragon and being actively involved in the Victoria community.
